SEWING &KNITTING SUPPLIES AT SLIPCOVERS,ETC

In October 2009, I was able to acquire the sewing and knitting supply inventory from the former Country Charm Crafts. I felt there was a need to be able to source these items in Chester rather than have to drive a distance. Various types of yarn, pattern books, pillow forms and quilt batt are available. There is also a good selection of knitting needles and crochet hooks on display.

The zipper rack has a good selction of lightweight and heavy zippers in various colours and lengths.

The notions rack offers needles, measuring tapes, scissors and various types of fasteners. Thread is available in a wide range of colours and several different weights for dressmaking and quilting.

AS PROMISED, MORE PROJECTS

This chair is an example of an older, very comfortable piece of furniture getting a new updated look- stripes make a very strong statement.

This loveseat with a new "very red" slipcover is an example of giving a new look to an existing piece of furniture. The customer always wanted a red sofa so comprised by having a loveseat slipcovered in red.

This traditional style wing back chair was repurposed by covering a formal stripe with a floral slipcover. Adding a skirt to the cover changes the look of the chair also.

These two pieces were slipcovered in a neutral fabric to update their look and make them easy to maintain with removable covers for cleaning. Adding red pillows to the sofa gives it a more contemporary look also.

Another wing back chair, this time covered in a white canvas to give it a "summery" look. This cover has a traditional skirt length instead of a "waterfall" style attached just under the cushion.

The white canvas cover is fully washable and bleachable, if necessary.

This loveseat is an example of updating a piece of furniture because is fits a specific place in an existing room and the customer did not want to have to find a replacement for it. These days furniture tends to be oversized and older homes are not designed to to accommodate the larger dimensions of furniture.

Last,but not least, an older style of sofa in good condition that just required a fresh look. Red certainly makes statement in a room and may change the overall look of the room completely.

NOT JUST SLIPCOVERS

This window treatment is cafe style curtains. The lightweight semi-sheer half panels provide privacy but allow light into the room. By hanging the panels from spring tension curtain rods, there is no need for hardware to be mounted on the window trim - allowing a very simple look.

This window treatment is full length lined and interlined drapery panels with a pleated heading to give fullness to the panels. This type of window covering is very popular as it keeps the heat out in the summer and the cold out in the winter by fully covering the window. The extra layer of interlining will also provide a room darkening effect for bedrooms. Various types of headings can be used in this drapery style depending on individual taste.
